In parallel to my painting practice, I am a writer of short fiction and criticism whose stories and essays have appeared in Tin House, Electric Literature, American Short Fiction, Zyzzyva, The Baffler, and Guernica, among other publications. I received an MFA in fiction from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 2021 and am the recipient of grants and fellowships from the Elizabeth George Foundation, the Dorothea Konwiarz Stiftung, and the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa, Berlin. I was the managing editor of the Iowa Prison Project between 2019–21 and currently teach Creative Writing at The Reader, Berlin. Between 2015–18 I ran an interview column with female-identifying artists for Broadly, Vice and continue to publish conversations with artists and writers. I regularly collaborate with other artists and writers as a mentor and editor to bring their work into finished form.
